How not to spend a weekend!
I guess it was the aftermath of Jeff’s challenge; spent practically the whole weekend doodling with numbers, thinking up zany moneymaking ideas, surfing through a bunch of sites and forums devoted to Net Millions and the pursuit of Mammon. Fortunately, my wife had other engagements and the kids their own distractions.
But in hindsight, all of that was time wasted. There’s no way to plan for the entire path upfront; all you can do is take the first steps, and keep your antennae alert for possibilities as you go on. The final decision was perhaps the simplest of the lot; Start with a target for a much smaller amount, perhaps between $100 and $1000; and let that process drive the rest of it.
Interestingly, Jeff seems to have had similar doubts too; though for different activities and reasons.
I’m getting myself a life. The opportunities can take care of themselves; if not this one, another will be around soon.
