Too good to be true?
GreenCar’s post led to this story about an ultra-fuel-efficient car giving 157 mpg.
The pix look good too. The fuel efficiency claim is based on using a much lower powered engine (20 hp) and reduced weight.
Sounds interesting, but here’s the kicker (from the site)
Unfortunately, you will have to wait until 2009 before you have the pleasure of possessing your own Loremo.
Will it sell? After all, any auto maker could make a similar vehicle - even if not 157 mpg. But if the low power (and therefore low performance) repels buyers, this may not see the light of day.
