Challenge update

It’s two weeks since I saw the challenge on Jeff’s site; so here’s an update on what I’ve been doing. A quick recap - the challenge was to make a million, in your spare time, starting with nothing down.

A real “nothing down” start would have many more handicaps; after all, in real life, you’d have living expenses to take care of; and realistically speaking, if you were literally starting at zero, chances are that you wouldn’t have had an education or skills to use.

In the same vein, I’m not counting things like internet access, transportation costs, availability of a computer etc. as having a cost; it’s primarily a “what extra will I do” exercise. As such, it’s primarily the initial start up that’s been the hold up.

The first part has been inspired by something I read at Change Race and Race of the Century; their competition started off to see who could reach $100, by picking up pennies wherever they found. In my case, it isn’t so much a case of doing this with a specific amount in mind; it’s been more of using this to help get started. As of now, I’ve just crossed a dollar; $1.07 to be precise.

The second part has been to look for possible part time / one time activities to earn a few bucks; both around home, as well as online. Tried for a couple of writing assignments on the web; no news so far, but still keeping at it.

I’m open to any other suggestions right now; what I’m targeting as the first step, is to make $100 to start off with.

And if you’re wondering why $100, check here tomorrow.
