If Money were no object
Single Ma’s post (and the others buzzing around on this topic) on what she’d do if money were no object, and she hadn’t a care in the world just reinforces the old saying : Money isn’t everything. Reading through the other PF bloggers on this topic, it resonates. Sure, you’d pay off a few outstandings, maybe add some toys - but then what?
Where it really makes a difference in what you can do, versus what you HAVE to do. Single Ma’s non-profit leanings, JLP’s itch to teach kids about money, or Tricia’s guitar all bring out the same message - if we could, we’d rather be doing something else. Working to live, or living to work?
As for me - no difference. Pay off the mortgage, put by some for educating my children, a few frivolous expenditures; but I don’t think I’d change home or lifestyle significantly.
Work-wise, changes - I’d love to help startup businesses, not just with money but time and effort as well.
