Dare to dream!

If you think you can do it ….. You CAN do it.

Psychologists call it the Pygmalion effect. The unconscious will is extremely powerful, and can provide both motivation and support to achieve anything.

So what does that have to do with Personal Finance and blogging? Everything, or nothing, depending on how you look at it. I’ve been having an occasional off blog email correspondence with another blogger; Today I got another reminder of how this works. We often build up notions in our minds about how other people would react; more often than not, we color those expectations with what WE would do in that situation. And if those expectations appear to have unpleasant consequences, we talk ourselves out of even trying.

But no two people are alike; and there are ways to gauge the other person’s thoughts and feelings, without precipitating a crisis. More important, is the “better to have tried”, than to have regrets lifelong for never having gathered up the courage to try.

In the middle of daily issues and chores, don’t get bogged down to the point where you lose out on your dreams. And even in the midst of daily budgets and prudence, there comes a time when you need to take that bold step towards achieving your dream.
